I’m amazed to see quite a few people knew about SunPCi—the Fediverse is a special place. :-)
I found it in a box I hadn’t opened in a while (I have the host as well, an Ultra 5, with a real CPU!). This SunPCi thing always stroke me as a funny hack from a hardware vendor that must have been desperate.
I don’t think I ever got it to work back when I played with this; it probably required some Solaris proprietary stuff.

@civodul I have two of these! Both the 486 and Pentium versions, I keep meaning to set up a couple of systems with them.

desperate funny hack It ain't far from GPU archtecture nowadays tho, @civodul, not to mention smart NIC. I'd say this design was far ahead of its time.
