Fedi hive mind - I have a question! 🙋‍♀️ I want to make a presentation which is essentially an academic poster where I can flick to different parts of the poster as a presentation slides (but maintain context of the whole - big picture and focus on detail). Basically I want an alternative to prezi.com Any suggestions?? #AskFedi #question #presentations #software

@CurlyParakeet I know that Obsidian's Canvas with the Advanced Canvas plugin can do this, buy you're limited to the Canvas' presentation (essentially diagrams).

@CurlyParakeet I'm not used to Prezi, but what about one from this list? https://alternativeto.net/software/prezi/?license=opensource

  • @CurlyParakeet You can actually make PowerPoint do this. I use it all the time to quickly mockup websites and mobile apps. Just create a main “page” (slide) with your poster layout and then the sub components of a “poster” (other slides) and link to them from the main slide (and drop in a small icon to click back to the main slide). You can also change dimensions of the slides if you want something that is not the standard PowerPoint size. Same goes for any non-MS PPT alternative.
