Hey Kiwis. I was thinking of replacing two MR16 spots in ceiling mounts with some Philips Hue ones. Looking on the Hue site it talks about compatible transformers. Looking at the bulbs I have in there now, I have previously unthinkingly replaced the originals with standard LED ones at some point. Philips have a chart which shows transformer compatibility but I can't even understand how to read the chart let alone know where that transformer actually is (if I have one) to read any info off it. The current bulb has "6W MR16 3000K DC12V Non-Dimmable" printed on it. The Hue (model 8719514491465) specs are a little messy on the site, but appear to be 5.1 (presumably Watts), and "Input voltage: 12V AC electronic". I don't know what I believe because surely AC versus DC is a big difference, but I'm not sure they refer to the same specification. The power supply of the house is AC, right? My electrical knowledge is too basic to second guess anything. Link to their transformer sheet below. Any Kiwis with requisite electrical knowledge know if they're compatible in my situation?
