@tnt@chaos.social @sturmsucht@mastodon.social to be clear, my issue w/Matrix is more about the actual functionality (the clients don't really seem to be there yet, moderation is... lmfao), and as someone who was in the (then) Revolt team I would not personally trust them to not just become Yet Another Startup. what's the point in upending everything and moving to a platform that either doesn't have various features (including "not being spammed with CSAM") or run by people who also aren't trustworthy? also I never actually said Discord was good!!! I literally just said I understand why people are drawn to it. I desperately want a good FOSS replacement but beyond DMs/groups there isn't really a decent replacement yet which is incredibly sad to me
