How people manage audio/video stuff for temporary setups like festivals or conferences while keeping it compact (suitcase-sized) and with a decent cable management? I've got an issue of cable management regarding the AV setup of the #Botconf and I'd like to improve it for the #Botconf2027. I'm thinking about precabling all the equipment with short and neatly organized cables and sending it as-is as a (modular) monolith. For this I'm thinking about a guitar pedal board (see pictures for example) or maybe a 10" #minirack which will be sent in a suitcase or a small flightcase. I wonder how tech people from other confs like #39c3 #STIC @hackaday #supercon deal with this?

@magnetic_tape@infosec.exchange @hackaday@hackaday.social Just real quick: For IWP9, I wire things up every time, and it's a bit of a mess, to be honest. I carry around a ThinkPad X270, a HDMI capture card, a wired mic -> audio jack, a wireless mic -> USB, and a crappy camera. Audio is the most important part. I think you may want to look at the FOSDEM videobox: https://fosdem.org/2026/schedule/event/ULTMMY-fosdem_videobox_2026/ https://blog.brixit.nl/after-fosdem-videobox-updates/
