Slowly growing climate change will render some areas more and more unlivable (like the American South). This is not yet causing people to move to cooler areas... But extream climate-related events DO slow migration INTO the most affected areas. #Climate #Migration https://www.mdpi.com/2071-1050/18/4/2040

@mimarek@universeodon.com Some kids will die of heat between school and home. And the exodus will start.

@mimarek@universeodon.com Our new paper might be of interest for you. It's currently in pre-proof and will be release next week: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.pdisas.2026.100570 "Human mobility as a climate and disaster risk management strategy: Addressing intersectional vulnerability and enhancing women's agency". Movements out of areas impacted by climate hazards do occur (either due to slow on-set events like increasing heat, or sudden events like storms), but currently mostly within-country or regional (between contiguous countries)
