Louisiana has advanced one of the cruelest anti-homeless bills in the country. It would force homeless people to choose between jail and involuntary treatment, make them pay for it, and if they can't pay, force them to perform unpaid labor. So...slavery. One step closer to #TechnoFeudalism Which in case you've forgotten, is entirely constitutional as long as you've "commited a crime". https://housingnothandcuffs.org/2026/04/16/statement04162026/ #Louisiana #slavery #Homeless #veterans #NeoFeudalism

@SrRochardBunson The system is working as intended. Frankly, these "politicians" who devised such garbage need to be the first to experience this social devastation.

@SrRochardBunson Alcoholics, drug addicts, and the mentally ill aren’t homeless because they are alcoholics, drug addicts, or mentally ill. They are homeless because they are poor. Rich alcoholics, drug addicts, and mentally ill people live indoors. What *really* needs treatment is the sick, evil economic system that enprisons us all. Just because you sleep indoors doesn't mean you are free. A gilded cage is still a cage.

@SrRochardBunson Why not pay them for labor? Then they can become NOT homeless.

@SrRochardBunson The USA is probably the only country in the world where slavery is actually enshrined by law in the constitution.

Genius!! These guys really *are* visionaries!! ( /s)

@SrRochardBunson Some journalists need to be convinced to write profiles of individuals who are homeless. It would help readers, and the general public, understand these are real people with families, histories and situations anyone can fall into. When I traveled to the US for work, once in a while I stopped and talked to someone homeless. There are some truly amazing people out there who fell on hard times, often not their fault. I'd also like to see a series about individuals in prison - there are a lot of people behind bars whose punishment is far greater than need be. Also, real people.

@SrRochardBunson this reminds me on test of witch or so, bind a stone to the leg and through the person into a lake, if the person floats, it's a witch and has to be burned to death, otherwise not guilty. ... a homeless surly has enough money to pay for surely inexpensive "treatment", is expected to have several credit cards and bank account stashed all the money away saved from not having to pay rent or mortgage ... pfff

@SrRochardBunson The war against homeless has been going on for decades. I'm coming up on 15 years. Last year, trump stepped up the game and every org in the country is falling in line with his execitive order that basicly declairs all 771,000 of us, either a drug user, a drunk or mentally ill. A few weeks ago, the VA fell in step saying basicly, if your a vet and live in a tent, you ARE mentaly ill. Last fall, i held a protest against the sweeps for 71 days. Even my fellow homeless people are ok with begging for the right to exist in public spaces, even the vets who swore to defend the US Constiton. I say fuck you and what ever new group comes along that your jumping on the bandwagon for becuase when it comes to us, you dont give 2 shits. You people look down on us and with you continuing to ignore us, we are now ALL CRIMINALS #TheSilenceContinues #Illegal2BHomeless #AmeriKKKa

  • @SrRochardBunson The next step will be burning them to fuel energy for data centers. We Europeans are always late in technology developments, but this time we already had that one nearly a century ago. It didn't go well, if I may express my opinion.

  • @SrRochardBunson The cheapest means to deal with homelessness is housing first. This criminalization means money for a bunch of people made from brutalizing the vulnerable
