#DnD has "Three Pillars" -- combat, social and exploration.
Each of these can be defined in other storytelling forms as scenes with the timing of each a bit different.
Combat is fast action, defined by the turn and round - six seconds at a time. Spells are cast, but there's not time for a ritual.

Social is slower. It is conversations of usually a few minutes. It generally captures negotiations, shopping, interrogations, bar scenes. Rituals could be cast, but would be obvious and likely provide discomfort.
