@juv3nal @sinvega but anyone can help anyone. it just gives advantage. a super competent person helping is no better than an utterly unskilled person helping. so you just wind up having random party members help the person with the relevant high ability to give them advantage

@eniko @sinvega no that's absolutely true, it's just a bodge to use rp to paper over a system that doesn't incentivize behaving in a way that might make sense (which isn't to say that's unique to dnd, all systems are going to have abstractions & assumptions)
