AI has significantly increased the likelihood of attackers discovering new vulnerabilities, creating new exploits, and using them in complex automated attacks at scale. AI increases the speed to develop patches, and reduces defects in new software, the burden on defenders, by comparison, increases due to the inherent limitations of patching. @LukaszOlejnik@mastodon.social I can see already all PLC and IoT providers patching 20-25 years old bugs... honestly, this sounds like the same propaganda we got 15-20 years ago, each year since then was "the year of cybersecurity". And yet, here we are, with ReactShell being exploited for storing credentials publicly available and never solved the phishing problem. The reasoning *appears* noble. Realistic? Unlikely. Can be weaponized? Undoubtedly. Just my opinion.
