People, you know Macarena, the song, is a religious song, don't you? Genuinely asking. Los del Rio (the flamenco band who sing it) are from Seville where people are extremely catholic (hence their Semana Santa being 100 times bigger than Pride) and the virgin patron of the city is called: Macarena. People do cry when they see a bunch of wood in the shape of a religious virgin Barbie paraded across the street. They think of her as a living person. Hence...the song. They have more faith on that piece of wood than on God. I Kid You Not
