Ontbijt of silver and glassware on a draped table, with vines, fruits and baked goods (1639) by Dutch painter Pieter Claesz. He was widely recognized as one of his generation's preeminent still life artists. The Dutch art historian Bredius described his paintings as being: ‘distinguished by their beautifully luminous colors, the large amount of light, and the excellent painting, especially of metal objects; [they] are among the best still lifes of the 17th century’.
