@ajlewis2 @stefano Really depends on your goals I think. Programming what exactly? As an aside I love how you call it bash "programming" (which I guess is accurate) because then I can actually call myself a programmer 😃 I need some fundamental knowledge in OOP because I always get lost trying to learn C or anything like it.

    @jordan1111 @stefano My goal is to be able to write scripts that are basically small programs. But I think my primary goal is getting that joy I had when I was taking courses learning FORTRAN and COBOL back in the 80s. I never made anything of use except a little program to calculate in BASIC to find if I got the right result in some calculus problems. I forget what those were about except it involved repeating a calculation until you came to an endpoint. I simply got a thrill out of writing code that made something happen. I think that is what I'm looking for--that fun. And I'm thinking bash, because it might come in handy.
