@icanbob Thanks for the offer but I’ve already got my spreadsheets set up. I know full well that the system won’t receive anything like enough solar input during the first and last 10 weeks or so in the year but that isn’t my aim. I’ve been collecting daily demand and COP data since the heat pump was installed and the calculation is to use this time of use smart tariff to recharge the battery in the three half price tariff slots each day so as to run throughout on low..

  • @icanbob ..price power and the modest level of solar at this latitude. That won’t make it free but the credit from exporting the spillover from late March to mid October will further offset the annual cost. I’m aiming for £2-300 as the annual energy bill, compared with £1000-£1200pa with the old gas CH system. I’ve already got the granular data on the heat pump from Jan till now and with a couple of months with solar+battery I’ll have sufficient for a clearer estimate.
