I hate that I'm going to have to forever wonder if a computer is just telling me what I want or expect to hear, or if it's an actual representation of something real. We're gradually replacing every bit of digital paper with one that will eagerly lie to us, rather than remain blank
This is an extremely shitty problem we've created for ourselves

Watching Star Trek, and a minor guest is being racist to Data, saying saying someone really should double check his math, and I'm forced to acknowledge how reasonable it will be to doubt any numerical info that ever comes out of a computer

@jenniferplusplus@hachyderm.io extremely shitty but easily avoidable, if it requires the internet to provide an answer that could be calculated on your own hardware, it's probably lying to you. the only exception is like, actual super-computer level math problems and simulations lol
