There's this interesting line in art, where if you suck in the right way I'm super happy to see it, but if you show a little too much competence the part of my brain that cares about implementation turns on and goes "nah, below par here here and here- and here too blunt, here too weak-" Sometimes I find an artist that falls on both sides of that line depending on the project, which really reveals how much of it is just my taste.
