@Mara Honestly, those badges are one way to get me to learn Rust.
I got one at FOSDEM and thought: well, now I have a Rust badge on my bag, but I don't write Rust. Guess I have to learn it now.

@Mara Other reasons include: It's generally useful to know at least one language that is lower-level than C# (which is the language I have the most experience with). I'm transfem and I have to follow in the traditions of my people. I want to go to RustWeek but not as some bozo who doesn't know anything about the language, plus allegedly RustWeek is gonna be gayer than Congress.
