@brainofdane Stocking stitch is when you knit one row and purl on the way back. It gives you the typical knitting v’s on one side, little bumps on the other, and curls a lot (that’s inherent to the fabric and not your fault). If you knit one stitch, then purl the next, then knit, then purl it’s 1x1 rib. You’ll be doing a lot of that in your knitting career too.
It’s hard because the yarn has to move from back (knit) to front (purl). There’s a lot to remember before it automates.

@venite that makes a lot more sense! The pattern I’m following is requiring a 1x1 rib and I’m having trouble with the action of moving the yarn front to back. It feels inefficient compared to crochet.
