I hate searching the web for e.g. "crochet magic circle" and getting thousands of ad-riddled influencer-esque blog articles that don't even get to the point until you're at the bottom of the page... The fiber arts scene is just as ridiculous as the recipe blog scene. I'm sorry if you feel that you have to monetize every little thing you do, but the market is flooded and your users/readers probably hate everything about your site. #crochet #fiberarts #knitting

Linux is cool and all, but maybe I need to re-investigate a BSD or two? 😬

RE: https://mastodon.radio/@k8vsy/116698301886691148 I now have N6L and N6B... just two more left, but I'm going out of town on Friday, so hopefully I can grab them before the event is over!

Hot take: Black Widow (2021) is a great feminist film about all the shit women go through at the hands of the patriarchy, despite being way more badass than the men around them. I didn't love it on my first watch, but this time around it hits different. It's like a social commentary film disguised as a blockbuster superhero flick. Love to see women take center stage.

Hey #crochet and #knitting friends! I had to cut some memory foam pads to fit in our camper and now I have two pieces of memory foam that I don't want to throw away. Does anyone have any #knit / #crochet patterns or ideas for scraps of memory foam? I have two pieces that are approximately 70" long, 4" wide, and 4" deep. I could cut them up or squish them into something. Maybe some kind of pillow or plushie?

I didn't think I was going to get in to FT8 as a fun HF mode, but the #CQPride2026 event ended up being a really fun FT8 hunt for me. I tried FT8 on 15 meters the other night and ended up getting Australia, Portugal, Ecuador, and some other DX that was totally unexpected! I think I'm going to enjoy this. #HamRadio #AmateurRadio #FT8

My #knitting saga continues: I managed to make a small swatch of something without frogging. It's enough to give me the courage to continue on. I personally really like the way a knitted piece looks and feels, so I'm hoping to actually make useful things soon. I'll start with a dishcloth. Maybe work my way up to some kind of shirt or sweater eventually.

My Lenovo Thinkpad x13 has given me another bank of corrupt memory. The RAM is soldered on, which I knew when I bought it used. I have been blacklisting another section of memory for the past few months without issue, but at this rate I may just have to buy another laptop and be done with this one. I hate e-waste!

After becoming adequate at the art of #crochet, I’ve decided to learn how to #knit and it is NOT going well. Ive only gotten a maximum of 5 rows in before frogging and starting over multiple times. At least I’m getting better at casting on?

This has been my #crochet project in January. My brother-in-law is expecting a baby, so I decided to try a baby blanket for the first time. I’m unreasonably excited for this baby, and I can’t wait to give this gift!

@Whimsy thank you so much! I am really enjoying the process. I’ve been listening to books and getting into the pattern. The yearn is really soft too, which makes it enjoyable.

Hey #CasioCult fam! Check out this G-Shock beauty I snagged at an online auction. Aside from the scratch on the bezel, it just needed a fresh battery and it’s basically brand new.

We worked hard to give computers graphical interfaces with good user experience for as many users as possible. Now, every website wants you to use their "command line" to chat with a computer that hallucinates answers, or can't do any of the things you went to the website to do. We're sprinting in the wrong direction, folks.
