I'm not saying it will be needed, but it might be and buying one is so cheap and easy. It's like buying a fire blanket or a smoke alarm, tiny cost with potentially life saving benefits in rare but plausible circumstances.

@FediThing @raymaccarthy We've picked one up for €13 after El Gran Apagón (the blackout that knocked out power, internet, mobile signals) in Spain last April. It would have been useful to know what the hell was happening because everyone was guessing here & the rumours were running wild. At least with a cheap battery radio we can scan the FM/AM channels until we get some info, whereas the phones were useless.
