Yet another #AI complaint… the BS marketing wankery from CEOs with severe #FOMO that slap “AI” on tech that’s been around for several decades, & is definitely not AI at all.
Case in point, I went to the Dentist for the 1st time since 2019, & they did x-rays. Hygienist who couldn’t’ve been older than 23 brags, “This new x-ray system uses AI to highlight areas that we should look closer at; things we wouldn’t spot with our eyes.”
Um… that’s not new. It’s no different from any digital (…cont’d…)

imaging system that does what #Photoshop calls “Find Edges” and “Unsharp Mask” on a file that is a higher bit-depth than the monitor can display. Tech like that has been very good since the ‘90s. But the Dental X-ray company just could not stand to feel left off of the big #AI bandwagon. And I get it; everybody’s just trying to grab a bigger chunk of #MarketShare for their stake-holders.
