People sometimes ask why I don't tend to get involved in transit union affiliated advocacy, and the issue people comes down to this.     @reece everything under the “other demands” section is so reasonable. I can see why the unions are asking to halt this rollout, but it seems to me they are saying “halt this rollout until we can have law and policy in place protecting our workers and transit riders”. I live in Puget Sound, I absolutely see the value in an integrated fare system and support efforts for that wholeheartedly. I can also see where the drivers and their unions are coming from, and if the people handling the day to day operations of the network say “hey this could cause these problems and we need to slow down to think things through”, that’s worth heavily weighted consideration.
