Any tips for how to give a 4-year-old an attitude adjustment? He's turned into the biggest rudest teenager! 😣
I turn on his light and cheerfully say good morning: "uuuuuuugggvhhh! 🙄"
He's thirsty:"drink! 😠" "I SAAAAID, get. Me. A. DRINK!"
I ask him to please ask me nicely: "ugh! Oh my go-osh! 🙄"
Seriously, he's normally a lovely sweet child, but it's like he's been possessed!

@ECityMom@mstdn.ca Could be that something is bothering him and he doesn't know how to put it into words. I'd take this as a cue to observe him and offer explanations that maybe he wouldn't be able to come up with himself. Equally possible that he simply doesn't understand he's expected to be polite, or maybe understands, but lacks the capacity for politeness in the moment. Either way it's an occasion for sensitivity and curiosity. Maybe it really is just a behavior problem, but my view is that behavior problems emerge for a reason. Good luck.
