The current U.S. administration’s view of Europe is more ideological than informed, often criticizing Europe’s political choices and pushing “America First” policies. Meanwhile, the U.S. faces major domestic challenges—political division, economic pressures, and legal battles—that many argue should take priority over reshaping Europe. In short: their focus on Europe seems misplaced when America itself needs attention. IMO

It is a key principle in politics if one is governing a country that if one serially bungles and the country is going down the drain then DISTRACT, e.g. by blaming other countries or starting a war (or, better, several wars* preferably intractable ones which keep the Distraction pot boiling so that one has peace and quiet to continue one's bungling and malfeasance). * ...and - very important - blame other states for starting them...
