Is it me or has the dark pattern of including “Action required!”, “Urgent!”, “Important!” and similar in marketing messaging from companies increased since the introduction of LLM-based notification prioritization in smartphones? 🤔 PS: This doesn’t really affect my notifications because I have those turned off for pretty much everything, but I still see the subject line or message eventually 😒

  • @_inside The modern version of "SEO": "LLMO". Keywords to boost your messages by LLM.

@_inside I don’t think so. I’m married to a marketer and the answer here is simpler than you’d expect: those are just words that work because everyone’s zoned out everything else over the years.

@_inside I now treat them as trigger words. False urgency helps a scam or fraud by hoping you don’t think. So a calm delete from me if they get by the spam filters.
