The beauty of the Fediverse, to me, is our rich diversity of experiences, abilities, and needs.
Everyone brings something unique of themselves into this place, and everyone needs something different from it.
That is a strength, not a weakness. Many come here with expectations that are different from mine ~ on any number of topics: AI, encryption, money, and more.
None of us are “wrong“.. we all just need different things from this place.
And that is beautiful.

My circumstances are not the same as yours, so your choices are probably going to be different from mine. Cool. In this complex world, none of us are exactly the same. So there is no place for purity tests. Understanding that, and respecting that in other people is the foundation of this successful experiment in technology and society. And, if these principles fail YOUR purity test, so be it. We can still work together on important things.. but you’re kinda proving my point.
