@km@mastodon.babb.no Doesn't that mean you'd have to identify and block the HT cores individually? I kinda liked having a single switch. Also, I thought it was off by default? My OpenBSD box doesn't have an HT CPU, so I don't know. ;)

    @rl_dane@polymaths.social TBH i haven't researched this topic further -- just noticed in boot message that hw.smt is deprecated and hw.blockcpu would have to be used instead. but yes, hw.smt is off by default, while hw.blockcpu would have to be set. maybe installer does this by default? i also liked how hw.smtp worked
