At US Big Tech and the kind of top-tier global companies where folks on the fediverse work, AI agents are now taking over most of the coding jobs, and people are terrified, saying things like, "They just started mass layoffs over there, I'm next." But as for what's happening to us at Japanese companies, young employees will jump ship immediately if their working conditions aren't good enough. We're constantly short-staffed. If anything, we actually want AI to spread as fast as possible.
