in defence of Pinterest, it's like any other social media with an algorithm. Once you get it used to what you're interested in it's a far better experience than signed out normal recommendations. You just have to put in the time. this is my homepage:  no ai, no ads. Compare it to how horrible the YouTube homepage is. here's one of my boards:  essentially everything I post on Lemmy (over 200 posts combined with my .world account) is from Pinterest or Instagram here's two examples from today alone: https://sh.itjust.works/post/52987863 https://sh.itjust.works/post/52988495 they added liking to images (not just videos anymore!) and cool image collages

I've been checking out cosmos as an alternative! No AI as far as I could see, it was refreshing & there's an app! I presume itll only get better :3 goodbye Pinterest my old friend
