@jay_peper > The existence of billionaires is a market failure I don't know anything about economics, but it seems to be a feature of capitalism. 🍕

@jay_peper Like when arteries have restricted blood flow, the artery can balloon dangerously with a system risking accumulation, billionaires are system dangerous accumulations of financing, needed elsewhere, risking death to the system, just like a brain aneurysm. It's a killer. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/16800-brain-aneurysm

@jay_peper Not a market failure, taxation failure. Markets inherently lump money into big lumps. Regulation can slow the process, but in order to reverse it while markets exist, one needs a well-designed taxation system.

@jay_peper The other day I saw J.B. Pritzker say you shouldn't judge people for their income. I don't. If somebody is a pop star and sells so many CDs or concert tickets or accessories that they make a billion dollars, fine. But you can't keep it and your integrity. If you make that much, EVERYONE who contributes to your success (including contractors & menial laborers) should be paid very well & you give the rest away. It can come in, but there's no excuse for hoarding it.

@jay_peper I think is not a failure, its the system working well. Neoliberal capitalism working good, always concentrates wealth.

@jay_peper Instead of expanding the government to solve this problem get rid of the government monopolies that enable most of them. Abolish all idea based patents, make it illegal to own land without occupancy and use (abolish landlordism) Remove all tariffs, subsidies, exclusive tax breaks and bailouts and favoritist laws that corporations lobby for (corporatism). This won't abolish billionaires it will just make it really difficult to become or stay that rich, markets freed from capitalism.
