Why in software messages is it nearly always "we"? "Please wait while we do Bla..." "We have detected that bla..."
Who's this we I'd like to know?
I suppose at least it isn't "I". that'd be worse.

@KaraLG84 I suspect it's a way to make certain processes seem less intimidating or more "friendly", however, I've found such messaging often obscures vital technical details of what the software is actually doing, which makes the work of troubleshooting or modification more difficult for experienced or technically-inclined users.
