I also resent it because I feel it offloads the "hard work" from the person who's initiated the communication onto the person who has to listen to it -- which for me means finding a quiet room so my APD stands a fighting chance, etc. But I guess it's OK if you know and consider the other person's preferences well. An ex-friend switched to communicating _only_ via voice notes without consideration, and that along with some other stuff ended up being a deal-breaker :(

    @srtcd424@mas.to Yep; I use it where the other party is and we’re both in a suitable scenario. It’s a good compromise on being on the phone for ages and the effort of texting. But if people message me a voice note when I’m out, DJing, at work etc then it’ll get heard hours later, or at all.
