I'm a year or two into the HDHomeRun + Channels combo and I have to say it was 100% worth the time and initial investment. It's been a great way to watch the Olympics, which is why I'm thinking about it now. It's basically an over the air (OTA) automated digital video recorder (DVR) with slick apps for iOS/macOS/tvOS. I spent around $150 for the HDHomeRun box and a cheap antenna, and then pay $8/mo for the Channels sub. Hat tip @hiro for the recommendation. https://getchannels.com
