I bought fuel at Costco yesterday, half the pumps were empty.

No, this is not uncommon. I've been to multiple Costcos with very long waits in multiple states. If it's a hyperbole, it's only barely.

It’s hyperbole for the most part. Only time I’ve ever seen lines longer than 5 minutes is in cases where pumps are out of order. Also most cars nowadays have stop-start batteries so you’re not idling much of the time.

Depends on the area and time of day. Seattle rush hour you fuckin bet you might be there an hour

I wish that wasn't a problem. There are 3 Costcos within about 30 minutes of me. Every time I've been, all hours of the day, each pump has about 4-6 cars waiting in line to fill up. People will wait 15 minutes because it's generally 20-30 cents cheaper per gallon than anywhere else.

I've never seen one without a line here in Chicago. Doesn't matter the day or the time of day either.

30 minutes is not an exaggeration at all

very common (well, idk about the wait time of half an hour because I've never done this B's) when prices are higher than usual at least according to the local facebook groups of people asking which station has the 2c/L cheaper gas, because that singular dollar saved is apparently going to make all the difference in their life

Might be more common with the spike in gas prices, gotta take "savings" where you can get them
