@jana i usually do it raw with brctl and the issue is either command buffering (i.e. your connection drops and it stops executing commands) or the bridge/ethernet interfaces being left in an inconsistent state (they all need to be up, ethernet needs to have routes removed from it else bridge won’t work, the bridge needs to have addresses added, etc) likely none of this applies to your case tho :p
