Happy Transgender Day of Visibility! As cisgender people, we can be allies by, among other things: 1. Interrupting/challenging people who deadname/misgender trans people 2. Using inclusive language - eg "folks" instead of "ladies and gentlemen" 3. Learning more about the experience of trans people by reading and listening to them 4. Sharing the work of trans people to raise their visibility 5. Calling out transphobic/gender essentialist behaviour 6. Supporting trans charities such as Transcend Australia or Transgender Victoria 7. Making our spaces more inclusive by, eg, having gender neutral toilets 8. Changing things that are categorised as male or female where possible to be more inclusive, especially things like toys and books that have no need to be gender based. What else can you think of?
