@ljrk @dotmeow it’s somewhat depressing: you gotta pay up for an IP (one that everyone can access, at least)you gotta pay up for a domainboth are centralized at the ICANN, and domains also go through registrarscertificates for encryption are also centralized at various corporations the internet is foundationally not quite decentralized, and vital infrastructure is in the hands of bloated and questionable organizations which everyone’s forced to depend on
