21 hours is not 'marathon negotiations'.
Two or three weeks, several continents, teams of 50+ experts on both sides, every entertainment from golf to strip clubs. Followed by months of ongoing talks between lawyers, accountants, and engineers.
Another week or so of mutual entertainment, stupidly extravagant meals, etc. Finally everything is signed.
That was just a voice over IP and network upgrade, with five year support outsourcing.
It takes me 21 hours to negotiate a car.
