I would actually pay for movies and anime and tv series if you just got the mp4 or mkv to download after you bought it. I don't pirate because I want something for free, I do it because I don't get any of that DRM content. Why can't I just pay to get the files?

@squid64 Since the suits are paranoid that you would share the mkv file (muh "piracy" even though piracy requires a boat by definition) and apply as many restrictions as possible to the video, even though that all that achieves is ensuring that people don't pay (the solution to the problem would be for everyone to refuse to pay - unfortunately there are too many braindead that happily for for digitally handcuffed, temporary access). For it to be moral to pay for a copy of a video, it needs to be possible to pay without proprietary software execution.
