@torgo The best predictor of a flight to exile in Moscow is Russian oligarchs renting airplanes in a hurry. Assad's departure was on rented Russian planes https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/dec/13/obscurity-awaits-bashar-al-assad-in-moscow-after-putin-offered-personal-escape-route https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/operation-assad-air-mission-smuggle-syrian-despots-valuables-2025-04-17/ https://www.timesofisrael.com/desperate-assad-deceived-those-around-him-in-last-hours-before-stealthy-flight-from-syria/ https://www.twz.com/air/the-mystery-of-the-syrian-il-76-cargo-jet-that-went-missing-as-assad-fled Yanukovych's departure was on rented Russian planes. https://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/ukraine-crisis/president-yanukovychs-plane-stopped-taking-n36551 https://www.occrp.org/en/investigation/poroshenko-tied-to-airline-that-may-have-helped-yanukovych-cronies-flee https://www.occrp.org/en/project/yanukovychleaks-national-project/ukraine-the-ex-presidents-caretaker https://gold.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/former-ukranian-presidentand39s-aircraft-linked-to-isle-of-man/ So was Prigozhin's oddly enough. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Wagner_Group_plane_crash https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/8/24/who-was-on-the-plane-that-crashed-presumably-killing-yevgeny-prigozhin

@torgo yeah, I really hope for a change, but I am not optimistic. What the past 16 years have shown is that an almost complete control over mass media (public and private TV, newspapers, journals) have devastating effects. I hope I will be proven wrong tonight!

@torgo also: "Since 2010, Orbán has made hundreds of changes to electoral rules, […] The result is a Fidesz-friendly system, with far fewer votes needed to win in pro-Fidesz districts. Orbán has also made it easier for the mostly pro-Fidesz Hungarians living in nearby countries to vote, and handed policy sweeteners to mostly loyal voter groups such as pensioners. […] For the reasons outlined above, Hungary’s elections can be categorised as free but not fair" See: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/apr/03/hungary-elections-viktor-orban-who-will-win
