I surely wish that all the peeps that code *all* the online media players would do a thing - put the audio level control (or the volume fader) in the same place *on each player*.
It's annoying to discover that the vid I clicked on is gonna blow up my speakers before I can find the control to turn it down. And as I continue doomscrolling I can't turn the next one up before it ends because the volume is in a different place!
Please. Give yer head a shake.

@AG7GM Yes! I resorted to buying a hockey-puck shaped desktop volume knob that plugs into a USB port. *Most* of the time, it controls media players, but audio in websites can bypass normal volume settings so easily that stuff STILL ends up at explosive volumes. With the puck, I can slam my fist on it and the computer mutes everything. I like have a nice big volume knob, but the panic-silence feature is why I love it.

@AG7GM we do have standard browser players but of course each website has do have their own custom on becase having something standardised is bad... 🙄
