I'm beginning to think that putting old white dudes in charge of military forces might be a bad idea.

@linuxfiend@vmst.io I think, hear me out on this, that the minimum age for the military should be 26. Whether by voluntary or by draft. Honestly it would mean a whole hell of a lot less people in the military voluntarily. And people over 25 would really be opposed to war so less hawks getting elected into office. In fact, I'd rather say 30 but I figure 25 is a hard enough pill to swallow. Wars are fought by (bless them) very young, very naive, very idealistic people. They don't realize how unromantic and ugly war really is. If they were older they'd realize it and not be as willing to go. And maybe that'd be a really good thing.
