I left some darker thoughts out of my published story, partly out of concern for my spouse. Since he doesn't follow my Mastodon posts, I'll share some of them here. I've grown increasingly distant from society as the extent of violence and hatred have become clear to me. At this point I basically don't want to be a part of human civilization, but it's not like I have any other options. If it weren't for the love of my spouse, I honestly don't think I could go on.
