RE: https://aus.social/@chestas/116373125969257053 I had a similar situation to the ones described below in this quoted post. I called a place of business one time because I was struggling with a bill I owed and I needed an explanation on charges. Actually, I think I needed help setting up payments if I recall. The first person I talked to said that they could not help me at all. The second person to whom I spoke, told me exactly what needed to be done to fix the problem and took care of the situation for me. Before we disconnected the call, I told her I really appreciated her help and that she had been very knowledgeable and thorough. I will never forget what happened next. I heard all of the air escape from her lungs. I could hear her breath in the headset Mike she was wearing. Her voice was shaky as she said thank you and she hung up immediately. I don’t know what kind of day that young lady had had, but it must not have been good. Apparently, I did something to help turn that around. That will go with me for the rest of my life.

@JamiePauls Awww I always, always try to give praise when I can and, like you, I'm amazed at the reactions I get. It's like they brace for the worst and when it doesn't materialize the relief, amazement, and gratitude is stunning. I don't know when true kindness just for the sake of it seemed to go out of fashion. But I find it's good both for the giver and receiver. It makes life brighter and that's not only a good thing it's literally fun and joy inducing. So, yes, look for ways to be intentionally kind just for the sake of it. Some enjoy the adrenaline rush that comes with outrage and complaint. Perhaps the emotions that come with kindness aren't as dramatic but they are much more beneficial.
