Wow the Mattermost UI is so buggy, it’s no fun to use at all. What are your favorite self-hosted chat solutions? Need good UX on browsers, android, iphone, open source. Bonus if written in Go ;)

    @zekjur None are really great, to the point I considered writing a backend for a forked Telegram frontend.

    @zekjur have you tried [[tinode]]? https://tinode.co/ I haven't but it looks interesting and ticks some of the boxes. You could also do Matrix on Dendrite, but it's deprecated it seems! Else I like Zulip's UX, but that's in Python.

    @zekjur check @zulip well organized chat solution, desktop/mobile/cli and does support lot of non profit organizations

    @zekjur I switched back to XMPP. Solid protocol, good encryption (thanks to OMEMO over different devices) and a vast choice for clients.
