I'm making some ring lights for shooting small objects with small cameras (like 3d-prints with my phone camera and such) and bought a bunch of 2€ rechargeable lights as a cheap source of 30x30mm COB LEDs and also to salvage some extra parts. I didn't expect any reasonable quality from them, but I expected them to be a little more consistent. The three Li-ion cells (50 mAh, 150 mAh and 300 mAh) you see on the second picture came from the same batch. The LEDs are all good enough and identical enough, so I'm buying some more for a second bigger light. The design is parametric, any other COB LED can be used, so I'm publishing it when it's ready.
