@mattmay@mstdn.social I don't know for sure but it's _pretty likely_ I still had active code in that antique because who the hell is going to be screwing around with label printing after like 2004?

@mattmay@mstdn.social the autopsy report says it was stabbed to death with thousands of sentient paper clips. 🖇️

@mattmay@mstdn.social MS Publisher was the last MS product I enjoyed using. And then they murdered it 25 years ago.

@mattmay@mstdn.social somewhere in the MS Publisher offices a coder shakes his head, saying "I was 2 days from retirement!", goes home, and watches the cop scenes in Die Hard.

@mattmay@mstdn.social My parents still use it so we need to work out next steps for mass converting or finding something open source that at least reads the Pub files. They used Impression Publisher on an Archimedes, and when they switched to the PC Publisher allowed them to continue the same workflow. They do a lot of work for church such as service sheets and flyers etc.

@mattmay@mstdn.social I still use it at work because the Adobe thing they want us to use is constrictive shite, and Word is... Word. I just need to make a poster quickly, you socials-obsessed fucks!
