@HowardGees@mastodonapp.uk That reminds me of 2008 ( and again in 2012 ) when Obama won the US presidency.
Sporting goods flyers that came with the newspaper had multi page Assault rifle and other firearm "election specials". Not very subtle at all, but Go USA!.

@markwoll I was under the impression that every event in the USA was an excuse to buy assault rifles. Less need for hunting equipment here in Nottingham, UK (with the exception of Robin Hood needing to restock bows and arrows).
