@spacerog@mastodon.social I'm reminded of the Commonwealth Saga by Peter F. Hamilton. Everyone has an e-Butler, an AI that runs on an implant in your brain and can take care of a wide variety of tasks. It also provides a virtual desktop interface, which is effectively projected into your imagination. People customise their “virtual hand” (effectively the mouse cursor that's used with that interface).
