The hallway monitor is a pet peeve of mine, the emergence of power structures around rule enforcers over people is not new, it happens all the time - and it bothers me tremendously: NIMBYs, Wikipedia, stack overflow, hijacked student movements, HOAs. The Reddit ban is just the latest episode.
